A UNIQUE FORCE IN METAL

PowerTribe is a three-piece heavy metal band led by a rare force in the genre … a powerful Asian female vocalist who also plays bass. In a genre where female lead singers and bassists are rarely the same person (especially in tight, trio lineups), PowerTribe stands out.
Based in both Los Angeles and Colorado, the band fuses classic heavy metal and hard rock with dark, apocalyptic themes drawn from the last days.
The guitarist, nominated one of the top five electric guitarists by Guitar World Magazine in 2020, delivers virtuosic performances reminiscent of Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.
The lead singer’s dynamic vocals have earned comparisons to Dio … while the band’s overall sound has drawn comparisons similar to Iron Maiden.
PowerTribe’s rare lineup and explosive musical chemistry create a unique voice in modern metal as they are melodic, apocalyptic-themed, and unmistakably original.

POWERTRIBE: Fronted by the wild-child operatic vocals of Missy Percifield, and echoed by the virtuosic guitar work of Darren Stroud while being driven by the spirited complex drumming of John Chominsky, this three-piece metal machine generates electricity on any stage.

Missy Percifield was once known as a classical prodigy, but she left that world of concert halls behind to embrace the waves of rock ‘n’ roll in Los Angeles. She dove headfirst and exported guitarist, Darren Stroud, whose soaring solos and technical finesse caught her ear. The two began writing original music, laying the groundwork for a new sound. When drumme,r John Chominsky, joined the lineup, the chemistry locked in. PowerTribe was born.

The band has built a strong catalog of original songs, instrumental showcases, and custom-tailored covers. PowerTribe delivers a warrior-like sound. Lyrically, they explore social issues, human emotion, spiritual urgency, and sometimes, prophetic storylines. Often, their music speaks of the Last Days with the intensity.

Critics and fans have described PowerTribe’s voice similar to Dio and their overall approach like Iron Maiden. Some have claimed their live experience to be “a more-diverse female RUSH, mixed with SATRIANI, and a hint of a more melodic Arch Enemy but with real singing”.

PowerTribe has been described as “... a more diverse female RUSH, mixed with SATRIANI, and a hint of a more-melodic ARCH ENEMY with real singing."

Missy, Darren, and John are more than skilled musicians. They are relentless artists. Shaped by experience, they craft music that cuts through the noise. Their songs reflect depth, urgency, awakening, and a warning in a world spiraling toward the unknown.

PowerTribe moves with precision through hard rock, progressive alt, and heavy metal by blending modern aggression with a classic vibe. With each release, they push toward something higher for great songs, fearless artistry, and a message that resonates. Their message is clear: This is music for a generation on the edge.
