Missy Percifield was once known as a classical prodigy, but she left that world of concert halls behind to embrace the waves of rock ‘n’ roll in Los Angeles. She dove headfirst and exported guitarist, Darren Stroud, whose soaring solos and technical finesse caught her ear. The two began writing original music, laying the groundwork for a new sound. When drumme,r John Chominsky, joined the lineup, the chemistry locked in. PowerTribe was born.
The band has built a strong catalog of original songs, instrumental showcases, and custom-tailored covers. PowerTribe delivers a warrior-like sound. Lyrically, they explore social issues, human emotion, spiritual urgency, and sometimes, prophetic storylines. Often, their music speaks of the Last Days with the intensity.
Critics and fans have described PowerTribe’s voice similar to Dio and their overall approach like Iron Maiden. Some have claimed their live experience to be “a more-diverse female RUSH, mixed with SATRIANI, and a hint of a more melodic Arch Enemy but with real singing”.
